Fire And Ice (A Poem)

Fire and ice
Flame to freeze

You think desire is nice?
Play this game with ease

If you retire the spice
You get the plain disease

Yin and yang of a different form
Born of a different norm

Yet somehow they go together
Ice to water, flow together

Spark to flame
Polarity energy
The artful claim
There is the remedy

The Deeper Meaning

So what’s the meaning of this poem?

Well, it’s a poetic hint at the power of the yin and yang — with a twist.

The twist is ice. This is why “fire and ice” has an edge to it. It’s not just plain old fire and water.

Ice is water in its most rugged, physical form.

That gives it more of a tangible rawness compared to the gentle flowing of liquid water.

With that, fire and ice represents the interplay of polarities in a very tangible way.

The poem hopefully expresses some of that, allowing you to sense the essence of fire and ice.
