There are so many distractions going around.

The question is, what is it we’re being distracted from?

The answer is always the same… We’re being distracted from ourselves.

I’m integrating more and more that our inner world is actually primary, and the “external” world is a holographic projection (from our inner world). As the saying goes, “There is no ‘out there’ out there.”

The essential nature of the Universe is flux, continuous change. Everything we observe is in a state of perpetual change. There are no fixed things in the Universe, so to fixate or cling to something is to resist this essential nature of flux.

This is why Ra, in The Law of One, places little importance on transient phenomena, instead focusing on the bigger picture and universal principles.

Once you slow down and see the distractions for what they are, this all becomes self-evident.

Buddha taught that non-attachment to physical phenomena is the key to freedom and enlightenment.

Jesus Christ said that his kingdom is not of Earth.

Yes, we’re all experiencing this reality. Yet attachment to it causes suffering. Reside in the timeless while wholeheartedly participating in the illusion, without attachment to how it goes.

Why waste energy on the fleeting? The more attached you are to the world (or the things in the world) being a certain way, the more you drain your energy.

Expecting things to turn out a certain way drains your energy. Getting concerned drains your energy. Getting angry drains your energy. Trying hard to figure out transitory events drains your energy.

Moving Upwards

If you’re really curious, meditate upon the principles or the metaphysical environments from which these events emerge. That’s how you start dialing up.

Re-member, the “external” world is the world of effects. So to preoccupy yourself with concern over effects, or wanting to change effects, is futile and draining.

The metaphysical is causal, and this doesn’t need to be woo-woo. Guiding principles, concepts and belief systems are metaphysical and part of the causal planes of existence.

Every action begins as a thought, whether conscious or unconscious, which is metaphysical. A seed that grows into a tree does so because it has a metaphysical blueprint, expressed through DNA codes.

In the context of human systems, events emerge out of the belief systems of humanity. Sometimes it’s human beliefs combined with the principles of nature.

For example, an economic recession is caused by a changing of beliefs around value (value being represent by money), which changes the agreements of human interaction, thus creating a recession. There are still the same resources, people and skills available, it’s just the belief-story of money that changed.

You can trace events back to higher and higher metaphysical elements too.

Let’s take war for example. On one level, there’s conflict of interest. But that’s just surface. On a more causal level, you have beliefs in nationalism or religion. On an even higher level, you have the belief in a separate self. When you view other people as separate from you, it opens the door for fear, conflict, violence and, on a grand scale, war.

So to fixate on something like a political leader cutting off trade being the cause of a war is many levels removed from the actual causes. The fundamental causes act as a fertile soil for infinite surface-level causes to surface.

Feel It Yourself

Anyone can feel the draining effect of clinging to the transient, if they tune in.

Investigative work around what happened in physical reality is exhausting. Have you ever tried to “figure it all out” by intensively researching a controversial event on your own? While it’s great to open yourself up to new perspectives, the more in the weeds you go, the more excruciating it becomes.

On the other hand, the exploration and innerstanding of metaphysical elements is enlivening.

Dial this up even more and you find that a state of no-thought – pure beingness – is the most recharging of all.

As they say, “The devil is in the detail.” To fixate on the minutiae of the physical illusion is to squeeze oneself more and more into separation.

This is a cutting off, to a large degree, of one’s connection to Source and the primordial energy of creation.

Sometimes it’s “necessary” to dive into the details in this life. Yet to make your home there is to drain your energy.

Control Doesn’t Work

Fixating on fleeting phenomenon goes hand-in-hand with the (perceived) need to control. One often fixates on trivial details of the physical illusion to gain a sense of control.

Control is exhausting, because you’re trying to control the physical effects, which is impossible if you’re not addressing the metaphysical causal level. Yet the highest metaphysical causal levels cannot be controlled, only chosen.

For example, you can’t control the concept of compassion. You can only choose to align with it (or not) to varying degrees. The degree of your alignment with compassion, mixed with whatever other metaphysical elements you align with, sets the scene for your thoughts, emotions, words, actions and physical experience.

The Main Point

The main point here is the more transitory phenomena you fixate on, the more you drain your energy.

We live in a Universe of flux, endless change. So to cling to anything is to resist the essential nature of the Universe, which results in suffering.

The more timeless phenomena you focus on, the more you build your energy.

The ultimate energy build is the pure beingness of meditation, where you recharge your soul in the holy energy of Source.

Blessings.
