Introducing A New Cryptocurrency: Do Good Coin

do good coin

Do Good Coin is a cryptocurrency which incentivizes positive change in the real world.

While Do Good Coin has every utility of a cryptocurrency, it’s more about what it inspires you to do. This is an intention-based coin – meaning that those who use it will be reminded to “pay it forward.”

Do Good Coin is a coin with intention. The biggest value isn’t in the coin, but what it inspires people to actually do.

We seek to merge technical utility with human utility.

Problems Do Good Coin Solves

If a coin doesn’t solve a problem, there is no reason to use it.

A coin must solve a problem (or problems) in order to be used and adopted by any number of people.

Do Good Coin solves several problems in unique ways..

Bridging Between Worlds

Do Good Coin bridges the gap between the digital and physical world.

Every time someone sees the name Do Good Coin, it’s a reminder to “do good” in the real world. This might be inspiring an idea for a world changing non-profit organization, or as simple as holding the door for someone.

Antidote To Greed

Money is a medium of exchange. It’s a means of getting something.

Do Good Coin creates awareness around the use of wealth.

It invites users to answer the question, “What am I going to do with my wealth?”

So instead of focusing solely on monetary value, Do Good Coin stimulates awareness around purpose, service and helping others.

A Crypto For Non-Techies

Do Good Coin is simple to use.

The goal isn’t to be the most technologically sophisticated, but to facilitate real world change and spread love.

That’s a concept that anyone can understand and get behind.

Rewards “Human Utility”

Do Good Coin incentivized and rewards human utility. It incentivizes the spread of positivity. It incentivizes being of service to others.

The ability to transform the lives of others, even through simple acts of kindness, is “human utility.”

Potential Coin Uses

The potential use cases of Do Good Coin are vast.

Some of the potential use cases of Do Good Coin include:

  • Tipping
  • Donations
  • A lighthearted way to get into the crypto world
  • Value exchange – Do Good Coin has all of the basic utilities of any other cryptocurrency. So it can potentially support any kind of value exchange.
  • Speculation – Although this is not the goal, value speculation will bring more awareness to the mission of incentivizing positive change in the real world.
  • Funding – Helping to fund other creators in creating their world-changing projects
  • Technical Details

  • Ticker symbol = DOGOOD
  • Total number of coins = 7,777,777
  • Underlying platform = BitShares
  • Do Good Coin is a meta-token created on the BitShares platform.

Benefits Of Building On The BitShares Platform

Do Good Coin enjoys all of the benefits of being built on the BitShares platform.

The BitShares blockchain has the highest transaction capacity in the world. Therefore, the underlying technology of Do Good Coin is incredibly robust.

Below is an excerpt from the BitShares website, found here.

Transferable Named Accounts – Easy and secure transactions

Named accounts enable users to easily remember and communicate their account information. We don’t use IP addresses to browse the internet or numbers to identify our email, so why shouldn’t we have human-friendly account names for our financial transactions?

Delegated Proof-of-Stake Consensus – A robust and flexible consensus protocol

Delegated Proof of Stake (DPOS) is the fastest, most efficient, most decentralized, and most flexible consensus model available. DPOS leverages the power of stakeholder approval voting to resolve consensus issues in a fair and democratic way. All network parameters, from fee schedules to block intervals and transaction sizes, can be tuned via elected delegates. Deterministic selection of block producers allows transactions to be confirmed in an average of just 1 second. Perhaps most importantly, the consensus protocol is designed to protect all participants against unwanted regulatory interference.

Read the full BitShares Whitepaper here for a detailed breakdown of the underlying blockchain technology Do Good Coin is built upon.

    Planned Methods of Distribution

Below is a list of the planned methods of distribution for Do Good Coin…

  • Gifting
  • Partnerships
  • Random Acts Of Kindness Mining
  • Gifting

Do Good Coin is positioned to embody the spirit of gifting.

Because of this, coins will be gifted to people as a method of distribution.

We call this an ICG, or Initial Coin Gifting.

Do Good Coin will also be distributed via partnerships.

These will be organizations and individuals who are making a positive impact on the world. Our partners will receive Do Good Coin, so that they can then pay it forward on a larger scale.

    Current Partners:

  • The Conscious Creative Tribe Podcast
  • Let’s Imagine
  • FeelinGoodFeelinGreat.com
  • CKMJ Group
  • The Living Lighthouses Project
  • Random Acts Of Kindness Mining

Instead of a traditional mining model, Do Good Coin will be able to be mined in a unique, lighthearted manner, called “Random Acts Of Kindness Mining.”

Essentially, people can share a random act of kindness, or a story about a random act of kindness, on social media. And by using specific hashtags and submitting their posts, they will in turn “earn” Do Good Coins.

The purpose of this method of distribution is to embody the main purpose of Do Good Coin – incentivizing positive change in the real world.

Do Good Coin is a revolution of consciousness around wealth.

It incentivizes positive change in the real world.

The platform it is built upon – BitShares – is the most optimal platform to build on top of. And the distribution methods will facilitate a widespread usage of Do Good Coin and the intentionality behind it.

Get Do Good Coins For Free

As stated above, Do Good Coin is being given away for free!

Positive and Inspirational Things That Happened in 2017

    positive 2017

Note: This is a guest post by Kate Harveston, of Only Slightly Biased.

The New York Times and other outlets are calling 2017 the best year in human history.

It’s hard to disagree — 2017 will be one to look back on for decades to come.

So many notable things happened, and many bold moves were made on behalf of men, women and children everywhere — moves that will continue the world on a positive path.

2017 has become the year of change, and more and more people have decided to no longer abide by society’s expectation to keep quiet about things that truly matter.

As a result of the election, many have become inspired and overcome with passion for fighting back and taking a stand for what they believe in — and how beautiful the change has been.

Maybe you yourself are one of the reasons for the uplifting change in humanity — a drastic transformation from the negative vibes that spread through the world before and after the election.

If you’re one of the catalysts, thank you.

In 2017, there was less poverty and illiteracy.

Fewer children died than ever before.

    Unlikely couples fell in love.

Both men and women stepped out of their comfort zones and into the spotlight to stop powerful people from preying on others.

2017 was undoubtedly a year of progress for all of humanity.

Even though we are mostly surrounded by negative news, know that the world is moving in the right direction.

Remember that news is news because it’s a rare occurrence — something we don’t see in the headlines every day.

From news stations and publications, “shock and awe” headlines sell and draw viewer attention. Features about mass shootings and war crimes stand out more than good news about people helping one another.

Keep yourself inspired by remembering the good stories even when bad ones are so prominent. Continue to spread kindness, positivity and love wherever you go.

    positive things 2017

Here are four of the many inspirational things that happened in 2017.

    1. The #MeToo Movement

If you haven’t heard of the #MeToo movement, you’re not paying attention.

Celebrity scandal exploded when once-admired, now-infamous film producer Harvey Weinstein was exposed by nearly 100 sexual-abuse victims in October of last year. The lengthy list, which goes back three decades, includes big names such as Ashley Judd, Gwyneth Paltrow, Cara Delevingne, Angelina Jolie and more.

The #MeToo social media hashtag went viral in October, shortly after Weinstein’s horrid past was unmasked.

Actress Alyssa Milano urged women to tweet #MeToo in an effort to expose the magnitude of the problem. In response, both men and women took to their social media accounts to share personal stories of sexual assault, as well as an overwhelming level of support to the victims out there who suffer every day.

It was one of the most incredible instances of support in history.

Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Lawrence, Lady Gaga and other powerful celebrities used their fame for good and came together to bring sexual assault into the light, where it belongs. Many of them even went as far as to post about their personal experiences and how sexual assault impacted their lives, again helping others feel brave enough to come forward on their own.

The “MeToo” hashtag was posted by 4.7 million people in the first 24 hours after Milano started the trend. It reached millions around the world in 85 different countries.

Use your voice, even if you feel it won’t be heard. If we combine all of our voices together, we will be heard, and the #MeToo movement is proof.

    2. Poverty Rates Decreased

An economist from Oxford University, Max Roser, calculated that the number of people living in extreme poverty — on roughly less than $2 a day — has gone down by 217,000, making the United States’ official poverty rate 12.7%.

The poverty line in China decreased from 99 million to 43.4 million. Income inequality continues to fall steadily. More people have also gained access to electricity, which is one of the first steps out of poverty.

As the average household income continues to grow, income equality and child welfare are still a major concern for many. However, all should take comfort in knowing that once again, we are moving in the right direction.

    3. Prince Harry Proposed to Meghan Markle

It’s a worldwide affair when a royal becomes engaged, gets married and has babies.

Remember when millions of people woke up in the middle of the night to watch the royal wedding of Prince Charles and Princess Diana?

The most current royal engagement has sparked quite a bit of buzz because it will be groundbreaking for the royal family for a number of reasons. Markle is biracial, American and divorced — quite a difference from past royal spousal selections, but the relationship between Prince Harry and Markle is one of great love.

It’s also a sign that tolerance has changed for the better, as well as British public opinion.

After the couple first became public, they faced harsh British tabloid harassment, mainly due to Markle’s mixed racial identity — her father is Caucasian, and her mother is African American.

The Daily Star Online even referred to the engagement as a “marriage into gangster royalty.” However, Prince Harry was able to clear the air with a statement condemning them for the abuse and harassment of his girlfriend, and the world has since started to support the couple and their differences.

Markle’s parents have been divorced for most of her life, and she herself is a divorced woman. While she has great style, you won’t find her in the same traditional attire as Kate Middleton and Princess Diana, as Markle opts for a more casual look. Markle is also American, although it has been reported that she is a direct descendant of England’s King Edward III.

Despite differences, Markle is embraced by the royal family and Prince Harry, and the rest shouldn’t matter.

The lesson behind this fairytale love story is to love who you love and don’t let other opinions sway where your heart is.

The relationship between Prince Harry and Markle has proven that true love can break barriers and that the world continues to grow when it comes to the acceptance of others. Markle herself has taught people that you can and should continue to be yourself above all else. This is a love story for the ages.

    4. Heroes Saved Lives During the Las Vegas Shooting

The world will never forget the Las Vegas shooting — 59 innocent lives were taken, and 500 people were injured.

Dozens of heart-wrenching accounts exist of heroic acts from concert-goers and other people who ran straight into gunfire to save their loved ones and even complete strangers.

Each of their stories is an inspiration and a reminder that good and love are alive in the world.

While it’s impossible to mention all of the heroes from that night, highlights include a man who gave his own life to protect his wife, as well as a young mother who acted as a human shield to protect her four-year-old daughter.

One marine found a truck and drove it into the chaos so he could fill the truck bed with wounded victims who needed to get to a hospital. Hundreds of other heroes risked their own lives for the lives of others and stayed behind to tend to the wounded and transport victims to the hospital.

It’s always remarkable to see acts of kindness from strangers and to hear stories about how people came together to help one another, even when their own lives were at risk.

This story is one that resonates with everyone because it proves that humanity is good and that we do have each other’s backs — there’s more love than hate out there in the world.

Life is so special and could end at any moment. Be kind to one another because together, we can make an impact on each other’s lives.

Always choose positivity over negativity — even if the headlines scream about all the bad that happens in the world.

Yes, bad things will continue to happen, but good things will too, every day.

2017 had its moments of both. Make a difference in your own life, and dwell less on the negative — focus your energy on the inspirational news out there instead.

    Quit the Race

“Never belong to a crowd; Never belong to a nation; Never belong to a religion; Never belong to a race. Belong to the whole existence. Why limit yourself to small things? When the whole is available.” – Osho

That quote is the solution to nearly every conflict on Planet Earth.

A being who does not relegate themself to a label is free. A being who does not identify with a label cannot be manipulated by external forces.

The tactic of divide and conquer has long been used to manipulate humanity. And it will continue until we stop attaching our identity to labels. Separation is an illusion (quantum entanglement is proof of this). When you see that everything is connected; when you see everyone as an aspect of yourself, how can you possibly cause harm to someone?

“He who experiences the unity of life sees his own Self in all beings…” – Buddha

The most positively influential people did not attach their identity to labels. Gandhi was not “pro-Indian” or “anti-British”, but pro-freedom. Martin Luther King Jr. was not “pro-black” or “anti-white”, but pro-freedom*. Jesus was not a Christian and Buddha was not a Buddhist (if they existed). Leonardo Da Vinci could not possibly be categorized. Their spirit could not be confined to a label. All of these people were incredibly unique and shared the truth of unconditional love for everyone.

“I consider myself a Hindu, Christian, Muslim, Jew, Buddhist and Confucian.” — Mahatma Gandhi

*Yes, the word freedom is a label as well. But one that we need to convey their message within the confines of language. Plus no one labels themselves as “freedom”, which would actually be interesting though.

You cannot be both the perceiver and the object being perceived. You can perceive your body, so therefore you’re not your body. You can perceive your thoughts, so therefore you’re not your thoughts. You are consciousness. Why limit yourself to asinine things? The more big picture you think, the less relevant the trivial labels of self-identity become.

Nonetheless, it would be extremely naïve to say that there aren’t ignorant people who identify with labels and attack those who could be considered a different label. But can you control how they think? Of course not. You can only control how you think. Are you basing your sense of self on how others might view you? If so, then you’re giving in to their agenda.

If you wait on everyone else to change in order for you to change, then guess what? It’ll never happen. Nothing changes when there’s diffusion of responsibility. Deep down, you don’t want conflict. You don’t want to live in an “us vs them” society. None of us do. But you hold the false belief that “they” have to change first, instead of being the change yourself.

There’s a reason why Gandhi said “Be the change you wish to see in the world” instead of “Wish for the world around you to change.”

Change starts with the (infinite being having an experience as a) man in the mirror.

Live like you’re setting an example for how you wish everyone would live. Not doing this means that you believe your reality is beyond your control. Do you really believe that?

If you don’t take personal responsibility for being a model for the change you want to see, you effectively externalize your power. In doing so, you not only become a perpetual victim, but open yourself up to be manipulated by hidden agendas.

You might be thinking, “Yeah I’d love to be a dreamer and think of myself as an infinite being, but there are people out there that will possibly kill me just because my skin is darker than theirs.” Sadly, that is true in a lot of parts of the world. But my question is this… Are you going to let the mind-set of ignorance determine how you view yourself? Are you going to label yourself just because others label you? Fuck a label. Just BE.

We must not tolerate injustice. Martin Luther King Jr. said “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” This is because we’re all connected. We must not tolerate separation either, for this is the root of the actions behind injustices.

To be resentful of injustice is to bring yourself to the level of ignorance that created it.

“The best revenge is to be unlike him who performed the injury.” – Marcus Aurelius

We must rise above, not allow ourselves to be dragged back into the quicksand of ignorance.

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” – Martin Luther King Jr.

    Be the change.

    -Stevie P!

    PS – A note on culture…
Just because you don’t identify with a label doesn’t mean you throw culture out the window. Not identifying with labels gives you the freedom to not be confined to the bounds of one culture, and like Bruce Lee said, “Absorb what’s useful, reject what is not, add what is uniquely your own.”

    Earth Is Our Holy Land

    It’s become painfully obvious…

We’ve been getting played out for a long, long time; manipulated into the illusion of separation. We’re deviating from our essence of love, succumbing to fear, allowing ourselves to get dragged into senseless conflict and destroying our beautiful planet.

“Just look at us. Everything is backwards, everything is upside down. Doctors destroy health, lawyers destroy justice, psychiatrists destroy minds, scientists destroy truth, major media destroys information, religions destroy spirituality and governments destroy freedom.” -Michael Ellner

We all know, deep down, that it doesn’t have to be this way. Humanity is capable of so much more, and (thankfully) we’re seeing clearer glimpses of our potential every day.

We’re all unique, physical manifestations of infinite love, and the time has come to shine our light on Planet Earth.

Let Love Be the Guiding Force

“There are two basic motivating forces: fear and love. When we are afraid, we pull back from life. When we are in love, we open to all that life has to offer with passion, excitement, and acceptance. We need to learn to love ourselves first, in all our glory and our imperfections. If we cannot love ourselves, we cannot fully open to our ability to love others or our potential to create. Evolution and all hopes for a better world rest in the fearlessness and open-hearted vision of people who embrace life.” -John Lennon

Love is our essence. Fear is False Evidence Appearing Real… An illusion.

“I have been saying and writing for so many years that one sentence can encapsulate the totality of life, of existence, of being: Infinite Love is the Only Truth – Everything Else is Illusion.” -David Icke

Love is the answer to most, if not all, questions in life. Choose love, let go of fear and judgment; that’s when we unleash our dormant magnificence.

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, “My son, the battle is between 2 “wolves” inside us all. One is Evil (fear). It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. The other is Good (Love). It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.” The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: “Which wolf wins?” The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”

Rigid Belief Systems = Easy Manipulation

“We have to stop thinking in black and white and soften our rigid belief systems. This world is not black and white. Nothing is. If you have a rigid belief system that is not open to the endless subtleties of life, you become a manipulator’s party trick.” -David Icke

Rigid belief systems are based in fear (“believe what I say or suffer the consequences”), and being in fear makes us easily manipulated and controlled. When we operate in love (or as love), it is the ultimate freedom.

“Never belong to a crowd; Never belong to a nation; Never belong to a religion; Never belong to a race. Belong to the whole existence. Why limit yourself to small things? When the whole is available.” -Osho

Falling into other peoples’ molds is taking life for granted. When we embrace the fact that we’re all brilliantly unique expressions of infinity, the collective reality we experience has no choice but to change for the better.

See Through the Illusion (Or Get Played)

The world we’re living in is a grand illusion. We’re constantly fed is a massive deception.

Every major system that is in place is built on fear-based conditioning. The education (indoctrination) system, organized religion, healthcare (sick care), the media…etc.

Just turn on the news; it’s all fear mongering and propaganda, designed to paralyze our consciousness. When was the last time watching the news made you feel good? And anyone with half a brain sees through the utter nonsense perpetuated.

We get brainwashed into belief systems and manipulated into conflict. Divide and conquer works like a charm when we’re programmed with fear and see others as “different” merely because of asinine labels we put on everything. Jews, Muslims, Christians, Americans, New Yorkers, Whites, Blacks, Republicans, Democrats…etc. Attaching our identity to these labels is what sets us up to be easily divided and conquered. It’s this rigid categorization that positions us as pawns for malevolent agendas.

So many get manipulated into anger and violence through fear-based conditioning and viewing fellow humans as something different from themselves. When we drop the labels and see everyone as another aspect of ourselves, we simply won’t be coerced into harming anyone.

The pathetic “elite” love war, violence, death, destruction and anything based in fear. War is immensely profitable for them. War creates more control. War is a massive fear generator, and they literally live off of our fear. (See David Icke’s books for a ridiculous amount of information and evidence on this stuff.)

Here’s an interesting excerpt from “The Active Side of Infinity” by Carlos Castaneda (quoting his supposed mentor Dan Juan Mathus):

We have a predator that came from the depths of the cosmos and took over our lives. Human Beings are its prisoners. The predator is our lord and master. It has rendered us docile, helpless. If we want to protest, it suppresses our protest. If we want to act independently, it demands that we don’t do so. Indeed, we are held prisoner. They took us over, because we are food to them, and they squeeze us mercilessly because we are their sustenance. Just as we rear chickens in coops, they rear us in human coops. Therefore, their food is always available to them. Think for a moment and tell me how you would explain the contradictions between the intelligence of man, the engineer and the stupidity of his belief systems, or the stupidity of his contradictory behavior. Sorcerers believe that the Predators have given us our systems of belief, our ideas of good and evil, our social morals. They are the ones who set up our beliefs of success or failure. They have given us covetedness, greed, and cowardice. It is the Predator who makes us complacent, routinary and egomanical. In order to keep us obedient and weak, the Predators engage themselves in a stupendous maneuver. Stupendous of course from the point of view of a fighting strategist. A horrendous maneuver from the point of view from those who suffer it. They gave us their mind. The predator’s mind is baroque, contradictory, morose, and filled with the fear of being discovered any minute now.

Don’t feed the parasite with fear. We must choose love in order to free ourselves.

And here’s an incredibly potent song by Black Sabbath:

    “Generals gathered in their masses
Just like witches at black masses
    Evil minds that plot destruction
    Sorcerers of death’s construction
In the fields the bodies burning
As the war machine keeps turning
    Death and hatred to mankind
Poisoning their brainwashed minds… Oh Lord yeah!

    Politicians hide themselves away
    They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to the poor, yeah

Time will tell on their power minds
    Making war just for fun
Treating people just like pawns in chess
Wait ’till their Judgment day comes, yeah!”

The way to bring about change is to not participate in the insanity. The madness simply cannot exist if we don’t take part in it. It’s as simple as that. Toxic fast food won’t be manufactured if people don’t eat it. Health-wrecking pharmaceutical drugs won’t be produced when people stop buying them. War will not exist when people refuse to kill each other.

“The pioneers of a warless world are the youth who refuse military service.” -Albert Einstein

“Non-violence is the greatest force at the disposal of mankind. It is mightier than the mightiest weapon of destruction devised by the ingenuity of man.” -Gandhi

We’re holding up the house of cards out of fear; it’s about time we walk away and build something better.

It is only through releasing the old that we can bring about the new.

We must stop compromising our morals for money and ego. We must stop sacrificing our essence out of fear. It’s time we step into our power, and as Gandhi so eloquently said, “be the change we wish to see in the world.”

We’re far more powerful than we’ve been conditioned to think…

    A New Day is Rising

“I’m American born, love America, love my people, love all mankind, all nationalities you know. I think it’s just recently where everybody just started to feel like there was an elite group that runs everything, and everybody else was sheep, ignorant, making all ethnicities, colors and creeds, niggers, blind to what really is going on. So I say take off the wool from your eyes. Out with the old America in with the new. End all racism, all injustice, all oppression to poor people, any people anywhere in this planet. Let’s come together: a new day is rising.” -Nas

More and more people are waking up to the true nature of everything. Many are now seeing through the illusion, choosing love over fear and helping to bring about change to our planet.

New and improved solutions, that are actually beneficial to humanity, are being developed in all aspects of life (energy sources, education, nutrition, economic systems…etc). We’re seeing glimpses of greatness amidst the chaos of the world. Change is happening fast. Change is happening now.

“Just before you break the sound barrier, the cockpit shakes the most.” -Chuck Yeager

Oh, it’s shaking alright. And we’re about to break out of the matrix we’ve been held in for so long.

Wake up, sleeping giants. Step into your inherent power.

When we choose love, it will collectively manifest in all forms, and in every aspect of life.

Get ready for a new paradigm.

    Infinite Love.

    -Stevie P!

    Be The Change

Planet Earth is an interesting place, to say the least. It’s definitely a wild ride on this rock hurtling through space. And quite the experience.

But why does there seem to be so much chaos going on here?

While we inherently exist in Love and innocence (look at young children), the systems in place seem to be perpetuating the exact opposite. There’s a conflict of interest between our fundamental nature as spiritual beings (Love-based) and the world around us (fear-based).

Think about it. We come into this world innocent and full of Love. Pure, jovial beings. It’s only after some form of conditioning that we begin to lose this radiant essence and become more fearful.

This disconnect between our natural state of being and the world around us raises some eyebrows. Something has gone wrong along the way here. Whoever is at the top of the pyramid is fuckin it up for the rest of us. Whether you think it’s the Illuminati, aliens, the bankers, reptilians, or Teletubbies is irrelevant. The point is that there’s an obvious deviation between our essence and the state of planet Earth. And the only way to change it is to BE THE CHANGE.

Gandhi was so on point with this

Sitting and waiting for someone else to do the work will not change anything. It will only make us more passive and complacent.

We need to spark the torch of change.

Shine your light on the world.

Only light can drive out darkness.

Light your candle, produce your own light, and light other candles with your flame. A sole candle produces some light, but millions of candles will illuminate even the darkest abyss. Spread light.

Ways you can be the change you want to see in the world:

Lead by example. Walk the walk. If you think record labels suck, create your own record label (ie Tech N9ne). If you think the obesity epidemic is negatively affecting the world, be fit and healthy. If you can’t stand big corporations, don’t buy from them or start your own small business (which is easier to do than ever before with the internet). Live it.

Don’t succumb to fear. It does no good to immerse yourself in the negativity going on in the world. Of course it’s good to be aware of what’s going on, but you’re not helping anyone if you marinate on negativity. You can’t help yourself, let alone others, when you’re full of fear and negativity. Why sit, idly complaining in the darkness, when  you can simply switch on the lights? Turn off the news (the biggest fear generator) and spread love. Be proactive in your own way. Be the change. Like Q-Tip said in Steve Biko (Stir It Up), “So much goin’ on, people killin’, people dyin’, but I don’t dwell on that, I think I’ll elevate my mental…”

Operate with Love. Not succumbing to fear allows you to live in the paradigm of Love. Choosing Love over fear changes the way you live and affect the world around you. Empowering yourself and those you come in contact with. Maintaining a spiritual connectedness. Transcending fear-based manipulation. Making people’s day. Contributing to bringing more light to this planet in any way, shape or form.

Draw your perception back. Don’t get too absorbed in your mind chatter. We’re the consciousness behind our minds. Forms of meditation are the most common ways of attaining this. Gaining this perspective will immensely help in guiding you on this journey we call life, especially regarding the next point…

Transcend conditioning. Be aware that “society” has taught us all how to act, behave, and even think (for better or worse). Be aware of your reaction to certain stimuli. Recognize when you exhibit predictable, programmed reactions. Was this embedded in your mind, like a software program? Don’t be a robot. Decondition yourself and allow some room for spontaneity, creativity, and all the other great qualities that make us human.

Vote with your dollar. Don’t agree with what McDonald’s does? Don’t buy from them. Don’t like the over-prescription of pharmaceuticals here in the US? Don’t take ’em. Find alternatives. Companies can’t exist if consumers don’t give them money. Simple as that. The beauty of a consumerist society is the power the consumer has. We just need to direct that power in the right direction.

Empower yourself. Take responsibility and control of yourself. Trust your own intuition and judgment. Don’t give your power away.

Own your health. Our body is our vehicle in this reality. Take control of it. In a world where our health is being systematically destroyed, being healthy is freedom fighting. Optimize your health. When you’re healthy, you don’t need medication. You don’t need incessant doctor visits. You don’t need to buy gimmicky health products. You become less dependent on external forces. When you’re healthy, you realize how good you’re meant to feel. This is so empowering. Healthy people are vital, full of energy and passion. Not passive. Not complacent. Healthy people are more inclined to be the change they want to see in the world. And owning your health makes you feel so damn good that your positive aura spreads to everyone around you.

Be proactive, not passive. Do things! Create. Participate. Do. We’ve become too passive lately. Change only takes place through action. A society of tv-watching couch potatoes will never create positive changes. Get up, get out and get somethin.

Voice your opinion on things that matter to you. If you’re passionate about something, express it. We all have unique ways of thinking. New ideas don’t come to fruition unless someone shares it. There would be no progression if people never expressed alternative viewpoints. Don’t shy away from expressing your opinion on something you deeply care about, no matter how “crazy” it may seem. Life would be no fun if there was only one opinion on everything. And with the internet, what you have to say has the potential to reach billions of people. Now that’s powerful. No wonder why information and ideas are spreading like wildfire these days.

But don’t force your opinion on others. It’s important to express your opinion, but it’s your opinion. Nothing is 100% true or false. Reality is one big gray area. The world has too many people forcing ideas on others anyway. Don’t contribute to that. We all have a right to different opinions.

Be like water. Like Bruce Lee said. Don’t be rigid. Be open-minded. Don’t worry, your brain won’t fall out. Entertain new ideas without rigidly attaching to them (allowing you to explore anything without being easily manipulated). Constantly evolve. Be dynamic and flexible. Be open to infinite possibility. Because who knows what’s really possible?

Be child-like. Be random. Express yourself. Laugh out loud. Play! Move your body. Adults have become almost expressionless robots. This hinders our ability to think/act differently, take action, and experience pure euphoria. Being more child-like gives us the ability to “be the change”, and have a great time doing it.

Pursue your passions. Follow your bliss. Dedicate time and effort to things you’re passionate about, as opposed to what you’re told to do. These days it’s even possible to make a living off of what you’re most passionate about*, no matter what it is. This is what I’m working towards. Pursue your passions and share your unique awesomeness with the world.

So don’t complain if you see something you don’t like. Get proactive. Do something.

“Be the change you want to see in the world.”

    Stay feelin’ good, feelin’ great.

    The Era Of Broadcasted Tragedy

Let me preface this by saying my heart goes out to all. Keep your head up.

We live in an era of broadcasted tragedy.

An era in which appalling events are ubiquitously publicized, creating a global ritual of fear and despair.

An era in which past tragedies are thrown back into the public eye, year after year.

Does this mean that we should sweep all negativity under the rug and pretend as if it doesn’t exist? Of course not. Negativity exists, because free will exists. And transparency allows truth to be readily available.

Does it mean that we shouldn’t feel sadness? No. Sadness is a natural part of the human experience, and we can’t ignore it. After all, what is joy without pain?

What is perverse regarding these tragedies, in my opinion, is how the message is presented. It creates a global feeling of sadness, and twists that sadness into fear, anxiety, hopelessness, and powerlessness. So instead of empowering ourselves to find a solution and prevent these tragedies from happening in the future, we turn to the “almighty” figures at the top of the hill. And they’re happy to provide us with solutions that may not be in our best interest. Because fear makes people so easy to manipulate, we remain ensnared in this terrible cycle.

The cycle also extends to the anniversaries of past tragedies being massively publicized every year. Like a fear-inducing reminder. It’s disturbing to think how we’ve become almost robotic. A certain button is pressed and the vast majority will exhibit a predictable reaction. We have been installed with a fear-based programming.

Don’t succumb to fear. In the face of tragedy we must operate within the realm of love instead. Send love to all and help uplift humanity. The only way to drive out darkness is with light.

And recognize that it’s natural to feel sadness and go through a period of mourning. Feel it. Embrace it. Be with it. Then transform that sadness into something positive and uplifting instead of fear, anxiety, hopelessness, or powerlessness.

To break this cycle, we must first acknowledge the negative things that happen. Then we must get to the real root of why they happen. And finally, we must uplift ourselves and take action to prevent these tragedies from happening in the future.

When I say get to the real root, I mean it in the truest sense. Maintain an open mind, question everything, and draw your own conclusions. Don’t naively swallow everything that anyone tells you, even if it’s lauded as “the official story.”

We seem to be caught in an endless loop of misguided commemoration with these negative occurrences. Tragedy is thrust into the minds of the people, then roused again and again; marinating our collective psyche in despair. It’s a vicious cycle that does no justice for the victims, nor our human race as a whole. We need to take our power back.

    Peace and love to all.
